Make the right decision

Make the right decision
Designer:
nathwhite (Nathan White)

Male/Female:
Male

Age:
21

Description:

With the subject of safe sex at hand, the message needs to be clear and to the point

I wanted to use an illustration to get the message across because its easier to understand straight away rather than reading lots of boring facts or text

I didnt want to use a colour scheme that would be too distracting to the legibility of the illustration and text
I thought about old childrens story books that used illustration and broad slogans to help children learn

This is the influence I used for the theme of the poster

The slogan "make the right decision" works with both the illustration of the sign post and the decision of using protection when having sex

the best one so far, but the perspective is messed up, unless it is a magical sign. apart from that, it is ok.

I think the perspective is fine... It's an old sign and the labels are just a bit wonky!

great poster, i think it would be the best one for getting the message across.

easily the best poster on here... straight to the point... i also like the way its done on old looking paper, with font to match the style of the poster, good work!!

best one so far you dont have to stand and read it for ages. just walk by have a quick glance and the message is clear ''wear a bloody johnny'' haha job done x

I think this poster gets the message through, but honestly i dont think it will attract enough attention, and I think that is also a factor you should have considered when designing this poster. But good work!

this design gets straight to the point and doesnt leave you wondering what its about. i also like the way the durex sign blends in with the poster and the simple design made me look at it more than the usual " overdone" posters you see in your competition.gotta be a winner!!

my life story mate, top work.

this is a my fave. simple illistrations are the way forward.

I like the simplicity but the drawing is horrendously bad for a twenty year old. It also looks more like a damian rice album cover than a safe-sex advert.

tonyknibb, where the hell did you learn about perspective? This poster is boring, unimaginative, badly drawn and as quickly as you've glanced at it you will have forgotten it. Plus we're not educating children Nathan, it's 16 - 24yr olds, remember the brief?

although the message is good, the design is not eyecatching and quite drab.

The idea is not too bad, but the drawing is not good enough.

Love it, straight to the point, exactly what people need to see you sink in the message! the best by far.

very clear!

i like this design because its different to all of the other designs, and it seems more serious because of the lack of any other colour in it, although it may not appeal to 16 year olds

Cool image, I like the whole crossroads idea, S'cool :)

16th Nov 2007 1:26pm

i do like the simplicity, very clear. however, switch the 'safe sex' sign to the right to relate the image to the message. i'd also like to say that, curlysi, if 16-24 yr olds wont wear condoms when they know the consequences, then maybe its time to start treating them like children in advertising! because there obviously not getting the message yet!
